The Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) 2026 is a state-level examination conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board (UPBEB) to determine the eligibility of candidates for teaching positions in primary (Classes 1–5) and upper primary (Classes 6–8) schools across Uttar Pradesh.

UPTET is one of the most important teaching eligibility exams in the state and is mandatory for candidates aspiring to become government teachers. The exam is conducted in two papers—Paper I for primary level and Paper II for upper primary level. Candidates can appear for either one or both papers depending on their qualifications and career goals.
